it took 25 seconds for this to load so i could reblog. the website is having a volatile reaction to the sudden influx of new users. we are witnessing a hostile defense mechanism.

if you’ve ever had a cat that preferred to hide around corners and jump out at you, you’ve seen this behavior before. essentially, the cat knows that you’re still there when it can’t see you, and it knows that you can’t see it, so this is the perfect time to hunt.
this cat is waiting until the person filming ducks down to sneak closer, then freezes when they pop up again. if she were in a more camouflaged environment, or if you weren’t paying attention, you might not notice her when she’s standing still, so this would let her get very close before actually being seen. if the person filming were a prey animal, this would significantly increase her chance at a successful hunt.

Exactly what @followthebluebell wrote! This cat is trying to carry their ‘kitten’ to a new nest. I’ve never seen this behaviour before with a human and it’s hilarious to watch in action.
